PDX Bus is getting a new icon

Here is the stylish new icon for PDX Bus!  It was designed by Rob Alan, a designer I met at the Civic Apps Awards Ceremony.

I really like how it has some of the colors and design from an actual TriMet bus, and is much more dynamic and detailed than the old icons.  Compare to the previous icons below...

Here is the old one - I made it from a public domain image of a bus superimposed over a photograph of the sky over Crater Lake.   I'm no graphics designer!

The first one was really bad!  I was in a hurry and I forgot all about the icon until the end.

While I was there I also changed the template for the blog to something cleaner and better!

I have never missed a bus, or stood out in the rain waiting for one since I got this app!

Thank you for it!

great logo! I think what could make it better is making the graphics in the app the same color as the logo too

Great app. One issue: I have missed several buses that were running late but made up time to the stop. It would be very helpful to see both anticipated "tracked" arrival and scheduled arrival on same screen.

Sorry for the late reply: unfortunately that information is not provided in the feed from TriMet - I only get the "predicted time" or the "scheduled time" but not both.

Dear Anonymous - I was wrong - I can put in the scheduled time along with the estimated time. I'm working on it now!

I have not used this app so I may not be able to comment on its functionality, but the icon and design looks awesome to me and it sufficiently fulfill all the needs of good icon. I am more in need of good free iphone scheduling app but it stills PDX Bus managed to catch my eyes.
