For those ...Gret app! Can I make a request though?

For those of us who are a bit nerdy, would it be possible for you to integrate the vehicle’s number in addition to the already existing trip ID for when we tap on a certain line of a bus stop? There is an app from the iOS store that is able to retrieve the vehicle number for the particular trip ID.
For example: if I am tracking Line 94 to Sherwood from downtown Portland at Stop ID 10491 (SW 5TH+HALL), and I tap on one of the 94 that shows up on the list, I want to be able to see more than just the trip ID on the bottom of the screen. The trip ID is almost always associated to a vehicle (e.g. Trip ID 9401, Vehicle ID 2601). There is an API for that from TriMet.

It would be super awesome if you could implement this feature in your spare time for your next update! I want to use your app more! The friendly GUI is what draws me to your app from time to time; otherwise I mostly use another PDX transit that is less beautiful yet has the vehicle number for a particular bus I want to catch, esp. given the older 2200-series D40LFs are becoming difficult to find due to retirement.

With much thanks,
BinAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7108529826546043302.post-28185793331349698312016-07-21T23:30:55.674-07:002016-07-21T23:30:55.674-07:00Digger O - sorry for delay. So each day the same color will turn up for the same item in the schedule regardless of the type of the bus.

The identifier associated to the physical bus or train, and the type of the vehicle is not in data feed from TriMet. I've found that when I see a bus tagged with yellow it could be any bus (e.g., a 2500 series bus). Isn't the the tag supposed to identify the specific vehicle indefinitely, not just for the day or the run? Or is the color associated with the run and which vehicle they assign to that run is irrelevant?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02861869819189153699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7108529826546043302.post-71788413207967226142013-12-21T18:29:37.466-08:002013-12-21T18:29:37.466-08:00John - something changed in the way Next Bus addre...John - something changed in the way Next Bus addresses these stops. I was just there for a conference and needed to get to a house on Blandena St. in Overlook, and needed to take the 35 Bus up N. Greeley and get off right at Madrona Park and walk across the park trails to get there efficiently - the app wanted to take me around the park on the surface streets. Not sure if you even have access to park trails for walking routes, but that would be undoubtedly helpful. Just a thought...
